HML Leviathan was a battleship in the Royal Sky Fleet and fourth ship to bear that name.

History[]

In 1910, the Leviathan clashed with the Jean Bart above the sands of Egypt[2] and was restricted to ground-dock for months.[3][4]

Notable Crew[]

Commanding Officers of HML Leviathan (IV)
Rank Name Dates Reference
Sky Captain John Forsyth ??- 1910 - ?? [3]
Sky Captain Kent Graham ??- 1910 - ?? [5][6]

Lt. David Chandler, a gunnery officer aboard, was publicly praised by Captain Graham.[5]

Captains in 1910[]

Three sources from the Leviathans Core Box Set each list different captains for the Leviathan in 1910. Both the Leviathans Gazetteer and the ship card give Kent Graham as Captain praising David Chandler, his gunnery officer. (The given name for Chandler appears to be some sort of error.) The story He Who Merits It, also included in the same set, has John Forsyth commanding and Daniel Chandler as gunnery officer, and is a more reliable source for at least Chandler's name.

A logical conclusion would be that both men commanded that ship at different points in the year. If so, it is unclear if Graham was succeeded by Forsyth, or if Forsyth, who took a head injury (and was fought to a draw) battling the Jean Bart, was relieved by Graham. Chandler is implied to have remained with the ship throughout.
