OML Kaiserin Elisabeth was a cruiser in the Königliche und Kaiserliche Luftflotte.
History[]
In July 1914, the Kaiserin Elisabeth reached Tsingtao. Captain Müller observed that the Kaiserin was old enough that a modern gunboat could be a match for it.[1]

Notes[]
The information given in Last Flight of the Swan of the East contradicts the Leviathans Gazetteer somewhat, saying, "The Kaiserin Elisabeth dated from the 1890s, and from the early 1890s at that." [Emphasis Added]. The first Austro-Hungarian leviathan, the OML Novara, was not built until 1896, however. It is possible that Müller was mistaken, or possibly the Kaiserin Elisabeth was among those early leviathans modified from maritime craft.
Historical Notes[]
The SMS Kaiserin Elisabeth was a protected cruiser that took part in the defense of Tsingtao at the outbreak of the Great War.
